Tanzania
squid.
Squid — ngisi — from Tanzania’s coastal waters, supplied whole, fresh on ice or frozen, and sold by the kilo. A dependable, high-turnover line for hotels, restaurants, distributors and export buyers.

Overview
Squid — known locally as ngisi — is a high-turnover line that works as hard on a hotel buffet as it does on an export pack. We supply it whole, as landed or cleaned, fresh where the cold chain allows and frozen for distribution and export.
Sourced in Tanzania
Our squid is sourced from Tanzania’s coastal waters. Sizing and availability follow the season and the catch, and we grade each order to the sizes you need.
Ordering squid / calamari from Samaki Direct
Send your order on WhatsApp or through the enquiry form at least two days before you need it, with the quantity in kilos and the size or grade you want. Zanzibar, upcountry and export orders are possible on request; upcountry and export transport and clearing are at the buyer’s cost, and Zanzibar follows the Zanzibar price list.
Squid is sold whole by the kilo, as landed or cleaned, and graded by size; cleaned whole squid also comes in frozen 500 g packs, and tubes and rings are on the price list.
