Kingfish, known locally as nguru, is the narrow-barred Spanish mackerel (Scomberomorus commerson). Its firm, white flesh holds together on the grill and in curries, which is why it is a staple of Swahili coast menus. We supply it whole, cut into steaks or filleted to your portion size.
