Tanzania
fresh fish.
Reef and pelagic fish from the Tanzanian coast — snapper, kingfish, tuna, grouper, emperor and more — supplied whole, as landed or cleaned, fresh on ice or frozen, and sold by the kilo. Graded fresh at the landing.

Overview
Fresh fish is the backbone of coastal supply. We handle a rotating range of reef and pelagic species — snapper, kingfish, tuna, grouper, emperor and others as they land — supplied whole by the kilo, as landed or cleaned. Because species and sizes rotate with the catch, we quote against what the coast is actually landing that week.
Sourced in Tanzania
Our fish is landed right along the Tanzanian coast and around Zanzibar. Species mix, sizing and availability follow the season and the catch, and we grade fresh at the landing.

Frequently asked questions
What fish species do you supply?+
A rotating range of reef and pelagic species — snapper, kingfish, tuna, grouper, emperor and others — depending on the season and the catch. We confirm what’s landing against your enquiry.
Do you supply fillets or cleaned fish?+
Cleaned fish, yes. Fillets for kingfish and tuna. Other fish is supplied whole, as landed or cleaned, graded by size and priced by the kilo.
Is the fish fresh or frozen?+
Fresh on ice for nearby kitchens; frozen whole for distribution. We advise based on your destination.
How is freshness maintained?+
Fish is iced at the landing and kept on an unbroken cold chain through to delivery.
What are the Swahili names for these fish?+
Samaki means fish. Kingfish is nguru, tuna is jodari, emperor fish is changu (often sold as snapper) and grouper is chewa. See our kingfish, tuna and snapper pages.
How far ahead should I order fresh fish?+
Two days. That lets us source and grade to your sizes before delivery.
How should I store fresh fish on arrival?+
Keep it on ice or chilled at 0–4 °C and use it within a day or two, or freeze it straight away. Frozen seafood should stay frozen until it goes into the kitchen.
